Green Sustainable – Bathroom

Trend Notes

More and more people are considering their home’s green performance when they renovate - for a lot of good reasons. Green sustainable design is known for its focus on natural materials and sustainability. It is not only better for the environment, but it can also save you money on your energy bills thanks to eco-friendly features. Plus, if you choose to be hands on a do the work yourself, you can customize the space to fit your personal style while you upgrade to a more environmentally friendly home.

Lifestyle Choice

Welcome to the sustainable home of the Johnson family! Meet Alex and Sara, a young couple with two energetic kids, Zack and Lily. They recently moved into a beautiful old building in the heart of the city. As a young family, sustainability is important to them, and they were excited to put their own green spin on their new home.

Being committed to sustainability, they know the importance of choosing the right materials and products whenever possible. They believe that a well-designed space should not only be beautiful, but also mindful, and a daily reminder of what is important to them.

Bathroom Makeover

The Johnsons were committed to creating a sustainable space, so they filled it with natural materials and eco-friendly products. They replaced plastic shampoos with solid soaps, used toothpaste from a glass bottle and installed water- and energy-saving GROHE QuickFix products.

Start Cube accessories were chosen for their cool, square design. Using the separately sold QuickGlue, they fitted a toilet paper holder, towel ring, soap dish and robe hooks (to hold their plastic-free soaps and solid shampoos). No drilling required and no holes in their surfaces. The easy-off promise means that the accessories can be removed easily without leaving marks or holes in the wall surfaces.

They upgraded to a Vitalio Joy 110 Mono shower set – walk-in which makes it easier for the kids – with EcoJoy water- and energy-saving technology and SpeedClean anti-limescale system for easy cleaning and long life, incorporating the Wave Cosmopolitan shower mixer. They also went for a Bau Ceramic wall-hung bidet 3-in-1 set, with two dedicated spray arms, to save on toilet paper, and the Wave Cosmopolitan S-size basin tap, matching the Wave faucet in the kitchen for an overall coherent look, which runs cold in the default mid position to avoid thoughtlessly heating water. Its form and finish matches the other details beautifully, and it was so easy to install thanks to QuickFix. With the faucet in the box they found the handy QuickTool, the super-helpful QuickGuide and a QR code to link to the online QuickVideo guides.
